I Write, I Breathe

I am a writer....a master and protector of words. "Like a knife, words should be handled carefully. They can cut deeply, the wound may never heal, and the scars may remain for an eternity. Or they can be used to make space to plant a seed - where fruition births legacy and feeds generations on hope, goodness, and love of humanity." ~Ey "E" Wade

The first book I read by my next author spotlight blow me away. The way she intertwined her characters and the powerful message it conveyed caught me by a pleasant surprise. I experienced so many emotions reading the book, I didn’t understand why. Not until I realized one of the characters hit too close to home. Life happens. It will be okay. These are the things Ey’s book zapped me with. Since then, I have become a fan. Her writing style is different, different meaning, off the charts! Once you read one, you won’t be able to stop until you read them all. Kickin’ It With KeKe…

Where's My Damned Cape? I Will Be My Own Hero #amwriting #ammarketing #thingslegendsaremadeof

As I  scoured the social networks this morning, I realized I was focusing on a theme. Unconsciously bypassing articles and reading the ones pertaining to business. The points of failure, that makes you into a success.
As a published author with a stack of manuscripts waiting their turn at press, I sometimes longed for a traditional publisher- one that would help me be a success  and not simply feed my ego. Been there(with small press), done that and it is not what its cracked up to be. *shudders*

Did you know there are way too many small publishers popping up and older well established business all fighting for the same thing?

You, me,  the next best seller. I admit, I read through their submission processes, what they're looking for, and they all read the same. Neither is offering anything different or more spectacular than the other.

Neither will be able to make you famous and keep you famous- it all hinders on you.

You are that key. So,  if they can market you, promise you the world, (which they actually don't) why can't you, me- as a publishing company in my own right, not do the same for myself? Who better to focus on my success, than me?

Today, Wade-In Publishing has a new client. She will receive the publishing standard Gold package where all attention is focused on her success and marketing. She will not be left to go it alone.  Stay tuned as we go from newbie to best seller. She just better know, she gotta work, work, work, work, work.

So,  I have tentatively prepared a promotional package. Pop Over and see my DIRECT Sales page.
.
  • First was to submit the latest books into online websites. Beginning with the free ones.
  • Then a couple of months of die hard promotions.
  •   5-10 blog stops. If I can secure more, I'll do that. My first place to look was on my Pinterest board- See Ey, Hear Ey and reach out to former supporters.
  • Blog stops includes interviews and or guest post
  • Social media blast (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Google +)
  • Five (5) Live Author Interviews on Blog Talk Radio, hopefully that will add up to 60 days/2 months- These possible venues were also researched using my Pinterest board.
  • I intend to set myself up a Personalized (fan page) tour page so my guest can peek it out.
  • I have my Media Kits prepared because they each have specifics pertaining to each book. . It contains (author bio, author photo (optional) trailer, book cover, teaser, social media links, buy links)
  • I have also set up a sales page where each book may be purchased directly from me. Links are also on the blogs for each book.
Sounds like a lot of work , but I have my cape, and the dedication to work it out.
As a self-promoter, what are the ways you help push your work?

Jumping into Control of Wade-In Publishing & Selling on Ganxy

I about Ganxy from a fellow author, Bettye Griffin. I was entranced with the idea of selling my books through my website. When I found out it was possible on the blog and Facebook and 90% of the profit would be mine, my desire became all consuming.  Problem was, I was still with my publisher and could do nothing on my own, with the books that were still connected to them.

This past week or so, big changes were made and the beast had to come out. Afraid, yet determined, I took the reigns of my publishing career, and have jumped in all kinds of directions. The learning capabilities when you have all the control, liberating. After the training of publishing to Amazon, Createspace and Smashwords- this was a walk in the park. I found Online Converter, (a program Bettye suggested) to be the best thing since Cheetos,I love it. The site converts documents into files like ePub,mobi,PDF and others.

Make sure to follow Ganxy's instructions and name each file with the book's title, your name, and the format. Even though I love the idea of having sales directly from my link because I receive more of the money, I added the link to other retailers for those who would prefer to purchase from their favorite online store. The finished products are shown below. I still have the history and picture books to add, but so far, this has been a marvelous experience. I have blogs for each of the novels and have added the showcases to the respective pages. and on my  "Buy Directly From Me" Pinterest board.
As an author there are a few good  reasons to use Ganxy:
  1.  The 90% royalty is a major plus, compared to the much lower of Amazon and BN.
  2. Being able to control contests dates, downloads of free books, price changes, promotional campaigns, and discounts automatically and quickly.
  3. Customer service is terrific.
  4. And there are other ways of promoting
If you decide to take on the Author Showcase for your own self-publishing business, please email Lonnie Rosenbaum at Ganxy- lonnie@ganxy.com let him know you read it here.

Here's to believing in self and sales!

If I Came to You for Guidance Would You Show Me the Door?

Five questions: As a published author of one or several novels, as one who has traveled the hard road to publication:
  1. How would you treat a newbie who has come to your for advice?
  2. Would you impart to the one who thirst for knowledge all that you know?
  3. Would you spare a little and send them on their way.
  4. Nod your lofty head towards the right direction and those who would help?
  5. Would you turn your back, head, ears and pretend you never heard their questions?
Six questions: As a newbie seeking knowledge for publication:
  1. Would you seek out information from one (or more) in your field?
  2. Would you hound or stalk writers until you garner all you could?
  3. How much information would you try to get from others before you research for yourself?
  4. After you get information do you research and make sure it is viable and correct?
  5. Do you believe those already in the field owe you time and information? Do you think its a right of passage ?
  6. Would you be upset if no one jumped up and shared their thoughts, networks and such with you?
Personally, I believe in helping as much as possible. If someone is the stalker lazy type, I can understand cutting the cord and sending them on their own. I would never turn my back on someone who has a dream, but don't know the path to take.
Thus saying, a friend and I formed a Facebook group titled The Writer's Tools as a way for all writers and wannabes to learn and share. It is an outstanding, friendly, and informative group. Our aim is to be a source for all. Come over sometime and check us out.

Banging My Drums

As you may know I have been working diligently to e-publish a few manuscripts. It wasn't as hard as I thought to formulate and then upload to sites such as Sribd, Smashwords, and now to Amazon for the Kindle.

I've heard all of the naysayers about self-publishing, but in every aspect of life there is someone highlighting the negative. Been there, done that. Sometimes we have to turn our backs on the traditional and the norm or progress will continue to be hindered. Anyway, I just want to share my book page from Amazon.

This is a small synopsis of what each books is about.

. Beads on a String-America’s Racially Intertwined Biographical History lauds loudly the accomplishments of all races that helped make America the great country it has become.
Also published  in a multimedia (audio/video) e-book format and available for purchase through---WADE-IN PUBLISHING

The Perfect Solution, (Which will be posted by the end of week) A suspenseful analysis of choices and how those choices affect the people around us. A three year old is stalked and mistakenly given to the stalker by his pre-school teacher.
Mona Boots saw him, chose him as her own, and walked out of his daycare with him in her arms. This choice is traumatizing to a single mother, unimaginable to an accused father, and detrimental to a child’s safety.

Yes, Sam Takes Care of Me is an affair to remember. Sam a jealous provider and protector simultaneously gives and takes away in this tale of five friends sharing in the trials and humiliations of having a relationship with the same person.

The Fishing Trip As a child, Phenigan O’Carroll endured weekend fishing trips filled with torture, sexual and physical abuse. The adults in his life were either the problem or closed their eyes to the problem and so he decided to eliminate the abuse himself. Set in Shiningbal, Texas where the perverted go to disappear, child sexual abuse is the norm and when the legal system is the monster, redemption doesn’t play nice.
