Debney Nichole Armstrong thought she knew everything about her family. She knew her dad worked hard at everything, except building a relationship with his family. She knew her younger brothers were typical kids, and she knew her mother, for some unknown reason, disliked her first born and only daughter. What she hadn’t known… DNA could ruin your life.
On the night before a planned family vacation, Debney is inexplicably excluded. After a bitter argument with her mother at being barred from family vacations, especially one so close to her eighteenth birthday, Debney arranges a romantic dinner with her long time crush. During the chaos of a romantic dinner turned teen party, she learns of the death of her family. Yes, sometimes relationships in families end tragically. People leave; parents die, and lives change. But does it all have to bring out the skeletons in the closet?
What she really needed to know was did her mother contribute to the ‘accident’? Who is the man repeatedly mentioned in her mother’s journals? Where were the bodies of her ten year old twin brothers, and who is the father of the child she now carries? No matter what the answers are, Debney knows, nothing will ever be the same.
REVIEWS:
4.0 out of 5 starsA delightful YA novel, August 27, 2011
This review is from: D.N.A. -Nothing Would Ever be the Same (Kindle Edition)
Truculent and defiant teenagers are not unusual, but ones that have to face one tragedy after another and deal with the consequences of their reaction to them are not. In this story, Ey Wade expertly portrays a young girl, Debney, whose mother fails desperately in the parental love department. When tragedy strikes, she makes one wrong turn that changes her life dramatically. An 18-year-old could go down one of two paths in these circumstances - the road to self-destruction or the road to self-fulfilment. Debney has to find an inner strength to choose the right one.
This was beautifully written by Ey, mostly in flashbacks. Debney is a well-conceived character with spunk and intelligence, and despite the disinterest and lack of love from her mother, or maybe because of it, she is a warm and selfless character. Her closest friends, although diverse in character are likeable and their mixed ethnicity bonds them tightly. All the characters in this book were well-drawn, the story is nicely paced and the result is a delightful YA novel.

This is a brilliant look at a dysfunctional family and how the daughter rose above it. The night before a family holiday Debney is told, yet again, she is not to come with them by her mum. They go off on holiday and she has a party. The police arrive at her house to tell her her family has been killed in a car accident. There is some mystery surrounding her brothers. She makes some bad choices and finds she's pregnant, what will she do?
This was a deeply moving story. I was near to tears in many places. the way Debney was treated at school, the aftermath of the accident and finally it all coming together. The triumveret of friends in Debney, Nadine and Giante was wonderful. Most of the story was told in flashback and the story unfolded slowly but coherently. The pace of the story was perfect, and there were no confusing moments at all. The ending was fantastic, just how I hoped it would be, and warmed my heart.
This is a great story and I urge people to give it a go. Great for Young Adults and Adults alike.

Ey Wade has created a fascinating and courageous character in Debney Nicole Armstrong, who lost her entire family in a car accident on her eighteenth birthday, and realized she was pregnant not long after that. In spite of the insults, crude remarks, and hurtful pranks thrown at her in the last few weeks of high school, valedictorian Debney is determined to graduate and have her child, even though she is not certain who the father is. DNA is a look into an all-too-common issue in a multi-cultural setting. What kept me turning pages was Wade's deep insight into Debney's emotions as she found her way through the wrenching trials that followed and wondering when she was going to crash. This was a world foreign to me and I recommend this book as a great read.
America's Only Multi-Interracial History Book. History was written in more than Black and White. Beads on a String-America’s Racially Intertwined Biographical History never stops celebrating our heritages and lauds loudly the accomplishments of all races that helped make America the great country it has become.
I just finished Beads on A String and in all sincerity I have to say it is a work of subtle genius. Several years back I read one of the most unusual history books ever written, "The Peoples' History of the United States." Anyone who has read that revelation of history as events that really happened, as opposed to events as reported by those who were left holding the most power, will see a similar sort of understanding in this amazing work by Ey Wade. An alternative title for her work could well be, "A History of the People of the United States. I can give this work no higher compliment.
I was consistently fascinated by unexpected connections, accomplishments and contributions being added to the ongoing tapestry of our country by so many people from so many ethnic and cultural backgrounds, that I simply couldn't put the book down. If I could ask for anything more, it would literally be just that...more.
This is the story of the heroes of our collective past. What is incredibly moving is that so many of these heroes have gone unsung for so long.
I can gladly recommend this book to anyone interested in the historical journey of the land we live in. Beyond that, I can just as easily recommend it to anyone who just likes a great read.

If you enjoy reading good genuine history, which is all about people, this is the most innovative and intriguingly honest perception yet, of America's roots and growth. Ey,
An amazing work - very labor intensive - and worthy of a PhD (in my humble opinion, but what do I know). Your index is just as intense as the text, for God's sake!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read it...just wished there were more pictures :~) @ponderdeeply:@jumpouttheboat Finished your book, "Beads On a String!" Perfect for home-schooling; very complete, heartwarming and winning material :~)

A Three Year Old is Mistakenly Given to a Stalker by His Preschool Teacher. Mona Boots wanted Brhin-Kristoffer Teddi as her child. In her delusion she walks into The Perfect Solution Daycare Center and out with Brhin. Scared out of her mind for the safety of her child, Catrine Teddi realizes she will have to tell Austin Sanchez about a son he never knew in order to bring him home safely.
What readers are saying about THE PERFECT SOLUTION
The story dealing with the abduction of a pre-K student from a day care center shows the necessity for more stringent safety measures to be applied to all day care centers. The characters are sympathetically protrayed and you do feel concern for their perdicament, but you just wanted to shake the people who ran the day care center and ask "What were you thinking" I would recommend this to anyone who would enjoy a well-paced suspense story.Patricia Hardy "patticake 545"
“Taking Care is no Joke. The Perfect Solution...A page turner. A book every parent that has a child in daycare or considering putting a child in daycare should read. Nancy Y. Wade's debut book looks into how each parent should be reminded that we are our child's first teachersTaking Care is no Joke, A. Wilson (Beaumont, TX USA) Child Protective Services
“The truest statements. As owner of The Learn & Play Day care center, I recommend the Perfect Solution by Nancy Y. Wade. It has sparked my concerns as both a parent and a center owner. My concerns for the safety of the young lives in my hands were to such an extent that I implemented new security measures into the center.”--the truest statements, M. Swopes (Beaumont, Texas USA) -Owner/Director Learn and Play Child Development Center
“Reading the book "The Perfect Solution" was definitely an "eye opener." Being a caregiver for many years as well as a Director of a daycare, I would highly recommend this book as a required reader for a training class in Child Development. Using it to create make believe situations to train potential caregivers to see what could be done to stop things like that from happening. I don't think the general public realizes the impending dangers that lurk around day cares from desperate people who are not allowed to see their child(ren) or people who are desperate to have their own child(ren) such as in the book. This book is definitely a "Wake Up Call" to parents and caregivers who have to rely on any Child Care Center.”5.0 out of 5 starsConcerned Caregiver,Donna Guilbeau (Beaumont, Texas USA)
“I totally enjoyed this serious but tasteful book. Nancy Wade wrote her book based on her 20 plus years in child care and most parents will appreciate her candid insight concerning their children well being in even the best established day care centers. From the very first word until the last; I found myself reading the book and mentally visualizing what was going on just like I was at a movie. She carefully described every setting and explained how all the characters would have a role in the final outcome. The book was very well written and easily read. I believe this was purposefully done. A lot of authors love throwing out big words and confuse their audience. Nancy must have realized that most people like to read but hate having to pull out a dictionary to understand what is going on. In conclusion; the author wrote a great book and one that should be on the best sellers list.” Ernest Johnson (Maryland)
“Ms.Wade, your book help my interest from page 2 and I couldn't put the book down until I read the very last page. Loved the characters and it makes you think about some day cares and questions that opens the mind about day cares. All pay more attention when children talk. Keep writing more books and let me know when your next book is publish.”The Perfect Solution,E.Jones (Texas)

THE FISHING TRIP-TRIAL BY WATER, EXECUTION AND DELIVERANCE OF RETRIBUTION

This was a realistic tale of taking justice in your own hands. What stood out was the characters. I could feel their anger and taste their need for vengence. You hate to sympathize with this varied group of outlaws but you find yourself rooting for them as they take child rapist off the roles of society. Ms. Wade has done her home work on this book. Five stars....a great read at a steal of a price. Highly recommend
4.0 out of 5 starsA solid read, well-written and engaging., June 28, 2011
This review is from: THE FISHING TRIP-A TRIAL BY WATER, EXECUTION AND A DELIVERANCE OF RETRIBUTION (Kindle Edition)
A cleverly spun tale of retribution featuring a well-rounded cast of characters. It's clear the author has done extensive research on the subject of child abuse and is truly trying to make a difference with this book. I wish the nefarious nature of the town were explained a bit more but overall there was a nice balance of dialogue and exposition. A solid read, well-written and engaging.
5.0 out of 5 starsA Perfect Read !!!!, May 2, 2011
This review is from: THE FISHING TRIP-A TRIAL BY WATER, EXECUTION AND A DELIVERANCE OF RETRIBUTION (Kindle Edition)
Ms Wade, has shown the mastery that she truly has in the writing, construction, and execution of this book. It tells of how once you are something, no matter how well you try to mask yourself, the truth will ALWAYS rear its ugly head.
The jumping back and forth works perfectly, as does all of the situations Ms Wade has created.
I would highly recomend this book as a must read.
I was unable to put it down, and felt a part of the story imbedding itself into me.
100% perfect !!!!
4.0 out of 5 starsCan you ever escape your past?, May 1, 2011
This review is from: THE FISHING TRIP-A TRIAL BY WATER, EXECUTION AND A DELIVERANCE OF RETRIBUTION (Kindle Edition)
This is a complex story dealing with complex issues. Wade cleverly intertwines past and present as we learn how the events of childhood shape the present lives of a family torn apart by betrayal and abuse. Just how far will one man go to exact revenge for the death of his sister?
I found this novel occasionally confusing in places - when the flashbacks are of characters with different names, it took me a while to connect the people together. But it was ultimately a satisfying read after the loose ends were tied and I came away realising that no matter how often you change your identity and start over, you can never escape who you are inside.
