Ey Wade is genius! Keke Chanel

The first book I read by my next author spotlight blow me away. The way she intertwined her characters and the powerful message it conveyed caught me by a pleasant surprise. I experienced so many emotions reading the book, I didn’t understand why. Not until I realized one of the characters hit too close to home. Life happens. It will be okay. These are the things Ey’s book zapped me with. Since then, I have become a fan. Her writing style is different, different meaning, off the charts! Once you read one, you won’t be able to stop until you read them all. Kickin’ It With KeKe…

What Color is Your Favorite Crayon? #diversity #BeadsOnaString

A little Crayola talk at

Come closer, no closer and I'll tell you a secret. Honestly, you aren't a racist if you see color. It means you aren't blind.
If you have time, go over and look at the history book I have written. Beads on a String-America's Racially Intertwined Biographical History, where no one is forgotten.
Before you leave, please take some time to do this…

Write down a couple of quick notes for:

  • Ways this post or blog held or lost your attention.
  • Is there a way I can enchance it visually?
  • Did you find any interest in the featured book?
  • What social network would be best for you to share this information?

  • I'd love it if you told me your answers in the comments below so I can know how to serve my readers.

What and How Would You Do It or Say It? #american #nativeamerican #asianamerican #black365 #history

So, say you have an opinion, a story you want to share. Something which has been on your mind, in your spirit for a long time. How would you get it out? How would you let the public know about it? What would you do to get it it their hands?
People say, 'write a book', well millions have written books, wrote blogs, and articles. I followed that advice and wrote a dream. The wish to have all Americans recognized and applauded for their contributions to this great country..
This is not your parent's history book, it isn't the one you grew up hating to read and it isn't the history being taught to the students of today. Beads on a String-Racially Intertwined Biographical History includes all races and ethnicities. We can all see a bit of ourselves within the covers and would improve self esteem in children if used on the daily.

  • People say bombard the social networks and then they say don't.
  • Share your books for free in hopes of receiving reviews, others say, don't.
  • Now, that you have seen a bit of my dream, tell me how would you get your project into the hands of the public?

What to do When You've Been Exposed #romance #USAToday

What do you do when you wake up in the morning feeling blah about your life and self? Well, you check your social networks, of course. There is bound to be someone witty, inspirational, clever, or (sad to say) worse off than you.

Yesterday was a blah day for me until I saw my name called out on Twitter. I was like'what the flip in hell' and quickly followed the link to USA Today. í

Read more about Tripping Prince Charming and meet the cast on their blog

After a bit of hooting and hollering, I shared on my Facebook timeline, posted in a few of my groups (because that's the new norm) and then hopped  around all of my social networks to spread the news.

Nothing like a little exposure to make your day. But, as I found myself with phone book in hand about to do some old school research, I had to stop myself. I don't really need a wrecking ball.

So, what do you do when you find yourself exposed?
    •  You cheer for yourself
    •  You share  the good news. It is marketable.
    •  You thank everyone who praised you and celebrated with you, while smiling kindly at those who ignored you.
    •  You leave the craziness to those who don't care about their reputation.
    •  Last,  but not least, you keep on plucking. for more exposure.
Tripping Prince Charming. by Ey Wade, is the tale of three love stories. I was challenged by the characters, who hated everything from their names to the format of the book, to write scenes and acts which pulled separate romances into one story. More like a screenplay than your typical novel, Tripping Prince Charming lets us see how the route we choose for our life can change the path of another. Carmella, Ivy, and Lillie-Rose are the epitome of friendship, loyalty, good-natured meddling and matchmaking. A love story of the century that will bring tears to your eyes and a smile to your lips

The sting of the soap on the wounds brought
home how close she had been to danger in the backseat of Durham’s car and she trembled violently.
Last night was a nightmare she never wanted to relive. It was the closest she ever came to being raped when dealing with one of the pedophiles. The guy had been a huge, cruel and insensitive man and she didn’t think twice about giving a sigh of relief when his body disappeared in the whirlpool of Clear Lake’s waters. Never before had she had the need to fight off a child rapist like him. Most of the other creeps tried to use a gentle cajoling method to seduce her, believing her to be a child of 15 or 16, but this guy had been a real slum bucket. From the time she and Durham met him at the assigned place the creep was all over her. The arranged plan was for Durham to pretend to be her boyfriend and arranger of the meeting. They wove some story about needing money for an emergency road trip or something. They were to get the guy in the car and to the woods as quick as possible, but from the start it went awry. Standing in the middle of the small alley settling the arrangements, the guy grabbed onto her hand and refused to let it go, no matter how she tried to get it away. Durham, the extent of his anger growing more apparent from the glint in his eyes and his rigid posture was getting angrier and angrier as each moment passed. Before the monies were handed over she had pretended a feeble attempt at changing her mind and tried to walk away. All a part of the ‘act’ and the guy went a little ballistic and slammed her back against the wall of the building.
Her head smacked the bricks so hard it caused tears of pain to her run down her cheeks. For a moment she thought she would pass out. Just as she lifted her knee to give a good crotch jab, Durham hit the guy with a kidney punch and she was released.
Nursing the pain in his side the freak leaned against the wall and measured Durham’s potential in a fight. There was nothing weak or feeble looking about Durham. From the tight angry grip frozen on his facial features, pass the thick chest, shoulders, and arms stretching the seams of his sweater to the huge hands balled into fists at his side, everything about him shouted deliverance of intense pain.
“You can think you could, but you would be deceiving yourself. I’m going to tell you this one time,” Durham moved to press his nose directly into the man’s nose. “This girl here is mine and if you try to hurt her, you will die on the spot. If she doesn’t want to do this the deal is off. No if, ands, or buts. You will have to find your own kid.” He turned to her. He could see she was afraid and having her beat on was not and would never be a part of the plan.
“You don’t have to go through with this if you don’t want to."
“I’m sorry. I promise I won’t hurt you.” The cretin stood up straight and offered his hand in apology, not a single sign of sincerity anywhere in his eyes. Penny put her hands in her pockets.
“Girl, you know what we came out here for.” Durham looked straight at her, making sure his steady gaze would not sway her decision. “All I can do is promise I won't let him hurt you."
“Alright, that’s good enough for me

Because Everyone Wants to Believe in Their Childcare Provider

From the inspiring mind of Ey Wade comes the enthralling tale of, THE PERFECT SOLUTION-A Suspense in Choices. Catrine Teddi(mother) Austin Sanchez (father), Mona Boots(Abductor), and introducing Brhin-Kristoffer Josef Teddi. Brhin-Kristoffer gives an amazing, heart wrenching performance as the child mistakenly given to a stalker. Surrounded by a cast of equally fantastic characters, the story of a failed relationship, mistakes in supervision, and a glimpse of mental illness, is perfectly executed.
In her delusional belief she is final doing something right in her life, Mona leaves the daycare with Brhin in her arms. Its a choice she is prepared to defend. ' (vid)

Is Your Fav Author Part of the Super Group Book Sale?

It's June and you know what that means? It's hotter than hades outside. It  also means Juneteenth is right around a corner. And THAT means it's almost time for the Juneteenth sale I'm a part of it.

    Why Juneteenth?

The simple fact is there was a time in America's history where folks would get fined, punished or thrown in jail for teaching people of color to read. More specifically, teaching slaves to read. The general fear was if you taught slaves how to write they might, you know, think about their lot in life. They may not be happy about it. They just might educate themselves. And then the nightmare would begin: they might educate others.

What I do every day as a passion, for a living was illegal in the United States. Took some time for the word to get out that slavery had been abolished and that was just one step closer to where I'm sitting now. I don't know about you, but I think that's cause for a celebration. It's worthy of taking a moment.

    Why a group sale?

    Who doesn't love a sale?

I Like What, Debbie Bennett - says: On Review(er)-Bashing...

Authors, stop being irrational cry babies.

It amazes me how totally out of mind some authors get when they receive an unfavorable or what they consider to be an unfavorable review of their most precious books.
They go to their favorite online groups and beg for better reviews to be voted up and the offending  posts to be voted down and hopefully out of sight forever. I hate to break it to you, but as a reader I look at all of the reviews on a book, beginning with the bad and weigh my opinion on my own conclusions.
I'm not saying you shouldn't be upset about
    • Those silly (1-3star) ratings on Goodreads that sport no explanations and it is obvious the book was never read.
    • The people who 1star your book by the cover and rate it boring or unreadable.
    • Amazon reviews where the reviewer cuts your book to pieces, berates you as an author and then goes on to show they have never read the book.
    • Last but not least you can not and should not throw a public rant because someone decides to give you a bad rating because they happen to not like the genre of your book. Silly, but their opinion.
    • Oh, and please don't go from blog to blog, on online radio shows and in other groups berating other authors if they happen to not like something you write...word gets around.

Take your lumps with the sugar and deal with it. Eventually, the world will hear about your constant rants and all hell will break lose. Write your best works and keep on going. I'm just saying, if you keep whining like a baby, you can't run and climb on Santa's lap to beg for that 5-stars behind your book title. The man will make fun of you.

Click over and take a look at Debbie's post. Check out her novels while you're there.

I'm so happy to share my latest guest posting @SouthrnWritrMag.
Southern Writers: Suite T: My Journey to Publication: A Lesson in Learning
While there I shared the most horrific mistake I made during my quest for publication.

Southern Writers Magazine  is one of my favorite magazines. They have great articles and the fact they are open to letting Indie authors submit their writings is a huge opportunity for the writer..
Check out the magazine, it's Open Mic Night, contests and the other opportunities.

If I Came to You for Guidance Would You Show Me the Door?

Five questions: As a published author of one or several novels, as one who has traveled the hard road to publication:
    1. How would you treat a newbie who has come to your for advice?
    2. Would you impart to the one who thirst for knowledge all that you know?
    3. Would you spare a little and send them on their way.
    4. Nod your lofty head towards the right direction and those who would help?
    5. Would you turn your back, head, ears and pretend you never heard their questions?
Six questions: As a newbie seeking knowledge for publication:
    1. Would you seek out information from one (or more) in your field?
    2. Would you hound or stalk writers until you garner all you could?
    3. How much information would you try to get from others before you research for yourself?
    4. After you get information do you research and make sure it is viable and correct?
    5. Do you believe those already in the field owe you time and information? Do you think its a right of passage ?
    6. Would you be upset if no one jumped up and shared their thoughts, networks and such with you?
Personally, I believe in helping as much as possible. If someone is the stalker lazy type, I can understand cutting the cord and sending them on their own. I would never turn my back on someone who has a dream, but don't know the path to take.
Thus saying, a friend and I formed a Facebook group titled The Writer's Tools as a way for all writers and wannabes to learn and share. It is an outstanding, friendly, and informative group. Our aim is to be a source for all. Come over sometime and check us out.
